When you are first getting into using whey protein shakes, you will need to get used to the flavour. If you like milkshakes then it won’t be a problem but if you aren’t used to having something like weigh protein then it can be a bit of a challenge finding something that you like to use it with.
However, one of the most beneficial parts of using weigh protein shakes is the fact that you can add to the intake you get from each shake – and the health boost – by adding in some fruits.
Fruits are, obviously, really good for us and having a nice blend of fruit in there with your weigh protein shakes can be incredibly useful for you in terms of upping your vitamin and nutritional intake.
The four most common flavors for a weigh protein shake tends to be chocolate, vanilla, banana and strawberry so we’ll recommend something nice to use with each blend;
Chocolate protein shakes can be hard work to find something that works with the flavor that you are dealing with is to use something a bit different – for example, why not consider adding in some almonds? They might not be a fruit, but they can be an excellent source of nutrition. You could also use almond milk as the basis for your chocolate shake – if you need to add in some fruit we’d recommend a banana.
Vanilla shakes will work brilliantly with blueberries. It’s an awesome little combination and gives you all the help that you need in taking in that nutritional goodness that we all need so much. Looking to really up your intake? Then start here – you’ll absolutely love the vanilla and blueberry mix, it’s fabulous and full of great positive health kicks for you.
If you are making a strawberry milkshake you should use one of two fruits with it – strawberries, or bananas. Bananas can be a solid choice as it’ll give you plenty of nutrition and a nice boost for the rest of the day, but raspberries can make it extremely tasty whilst giving you a nice health kick along the way. Whatever you choose out of the two, you’ll absolutely love the flavors that come with both.
As it’s already got banana in it, you might be reticent to add in a full or half a banana – but it’s got so much positive health stuff in there, it’s a great idea. Failing that, go with some blueberries or even a few strawberries; they will blend together nicely, just be prepared for all the little seeds from either fruit getting stuck in your teeth!
Mix and match, and you’ll get a far greater boost!
